Ye Highlands and ye Lowlands, | Oh, where hae ye been? | They hae slain the Earl O' Moray, | And Lady Mondegreen. [
And laid him o' the green]

That's so funny. We just had Syd practicing cursive and noticed that they changed the way you write an uppercase Q. I've never liked and really never used cursive myself.
So what are some of your other predicitions swami? ;o)
Good question. In high school, I predicted conventional letters would be replaced by electronic letters. In college, I predicted we would move from owning to renting music (somewhat right on that one).
Since before my kids were born, I predicted that college costs were unsustainable and unjustifiable, and that there would be some major structural revolution in higher education. That one is not coming true very quickly.
I predicted that the Soviets would only hold Matthias Rust for a short time and then release him to garner favorably publicity.
I knew that the dot-com bubbles, and particularly the housing bubble, were bubbles. Didn't have to be a genius to see those, of course.
I knew the return of low gas prices was temporary. I advocated raising the gas tax $0.05 / year till we reached European levels ($4-5 gallon).

I know there have been more!
Gas prices will continue to rise, forever I think. Check out a great documentary called "Crude Awakening" it is on Netflix if you use Netflix.
ReplyDeleteI am laughing about your Matthias Rust prediction. That's funny. Ah, the good old days of the Cold War.
